Steve's Final Quest

Chapter 0: Prologue

The calming sounds of the ocean. The content noises of a pig. I wake up, for the zillionth time, in this land of creation to these noises. Looking out my large window to the back of the house lies the expansive sea. Through the front door, a few pigs and a chicken walk along the sand of the beach. Nothing I haven't seen before.

I look in my chest in the basement, and take out my Diamond Pickaxe. It seems rather durable, so no need to make a spare for the trip to the mines. I've written Steve on the handle, but I'm not sure why; I've yet to find anyone else who could use this... I've been in this land of caves, creation, and, after dusk, the undead and explosive for at least two years now. I've built many structures in my days - a minecart ride from my house to the mines, a few Arrow Dispenser defense systems around my home. As strange as this world is, it's rather unique.

  And, as of late, boring.

Before I leave the house, I turn to look inside. The same red bed. The same collection of the four different sets of armor. The same nine-Diamond-Block-center I made in the middle of my red-carpet floor, made in celebration of my 128th diamond found. The sky blue gems never fail to dazzle me as I hit them with my pick, even if I've found about fifteen dozen of them by now.

I head towards the stairs beside the bed, into my Library. Most of these books are empty, actually, with the exception of a few books filled with concepts for structures in my wildest dreams. I decide to take one blank book with me, in the case any thoughts arise while I mine. I look at the strange, floating book in the center of the room. I found this unusual object in the hands of a half-decayed Enderman, never able to read its strange patterns. It did seem to hold magical powers, as it made my Diamond Pickaxe rather durable somehow.

I head back downstairs and out the door, to my minecart. After some examination nearby, there aren't any dangerous creatures around here. Not now, at least. I hit to button, and the cart zooms down the long passage to the labyrinth I've made in search of the precious gems.

When I reach the bottom, look around for hostile creatures, and begin mining in a new spot. I mine a vein of coal, another of gold...I feel a bit odd...As if I was being watched. However, no amount of searching the nearby area reveals anything. So I carry on, chipping away with my pick, when I feel a cold as ice hand on my shoulder...
